Bellecour's 3D Animation bachelor is built on Blender and Unreal Engine rather than Maya, which points the outcomes toward games and advertising more than feature animation.
Three years, with a classic progression: modelling, texturing, rigging, animation and VFX fundamentals in year one, compositing and sound design in year two, the graduation film in year three. A stated 693 teaching hours in year one. Photoshop and After Effects complete the chain.
The school has existed since 1937 and offers 2D animation, 3D animation, design and games on one Lyon campus, plus a foundation year.
Admission with the baccalauréat or a level 4 qualification, on school record, artistic portfolio and interview. Direct entry outside Parcoursup is possible.
RECA member, RNCP 36578 level 6 title, Qualiopi certified. The school claims first place worldwide at the 2024 Rookies in Production Excellence 2D Animation, a 2D category rather than 3D.
Published 2026-2027 rates: €8,990, €9,450 then €9,650 by year.
