Animation school
USA
Address:
Provo, UT 84602, USA
Student films have won Student Emmys and Student Academy Awards, Nickelodeon's Producers' Choice and Viewers' Choice prizes, and selections at Sundance, Cannes and Annecy, for a programme admitting twenty to twenty-five students a year.
The Center for Animation, created in 2010, is cross-disciplinary by design: it reports simultaneously to three faculties, engineering and technology, fine arts and communications, and physical and mathematical sciences. Artists, programmers and technicians work together on graduation projects, 3D films as well as games.
Faculty are recruited from Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks and Warner Bros.
The programme has closed enrolment and admission to the Center happens after entry to the university, so in two stages. Successful applicants demonstrate command of drawing, design principles and CG software such as Maya. The very small cohort makes admission extremely selective.
Tuition fees are not published on the official pages consulted.
