The Angoulême offering is limited to a one-year drawing foundation course and a two-year Storyboard & Layout programme. The long animation courses, 3D Draughtsman and the Animation Cinema specialisation, are taught in Lyon.
The Storyboard & Layout programme is presented as unique in France: training devoted entirely to the link between the director and the animation teams, a role rarely taught in its own right. Two years, 950 hours in year one and 900 in year two, plus an eight to twelve week placement.
Sixteen instructors, all working professionals: storyboard artists, layout artists, directors, comics authors. The school sits in the Magelis image cluster, France's second animation employment basin, five minutes' walk from the TGV station.
The Storyboard & Layout programme awards a school certificate rather than an RNCP title. The school's RNCP level 6 and 7 qualifications relate to the Lyon courses.
€7,380 a year plus €900 in annual administrative fees, 2025-2026 scale.
