Ecole l atelier
Animation school
France
Address:
8 Rue de Saintes, 16000 Angoulême, France
A 2D school, and that needs saying up front: in Angoulême, where EMCA and the local studios pull toward 3D and directing, L'Atelier commits entirely to drawn animation. Animator, layout, storyboard, character design.
The format is that of a small operation: 16 to 20 students per class according to its RECA listing, which buys a level of individual attention that is hard to find elsewhere. The school is a RECA member and sits inside the Magelis cluster, which opens access to local student services and Magelis Solidarité grants. Angoulême is still France's leading animation hub, and being on site matters for internships.
Founded in 2007, private status. The official site blocks automated reading, so the exact course length, admission process and fees are not publicly verifiable. No RNCP qualification is documented either.
The school teaches 2D in small cohorts. Course length, fees and the qualification awarded are not published.
