Ecole nationale superieur des arts decoratifs

One of the few French public schools of the very first rank training for authorial animation cinema, with unmatched value for money: €458 in annual fees for a master-level course, waived for grant holders.

The Animation Cinema stream is one of the school's ten specialisation areas. The course runs five years with a first year shared by all students regardless of stream, then two or four years of specialisation. That transversal first year gives a cultural grounding specialised schools do not offer.

The counterpart is extreme selectivity: 72 places for the 2026 intake, across all streams. The entrance process runs through Parcoursup, with an online eligibility phase requiring a piece created at home and a portfolio of fifteen pages maximum, then a four-hour artistic production test and a twenty-minute interview before a jury.

Membership of Université PSL opens a research environment and bridges that are rare for an art school.

A public institution under the Ministry of Culture, awarding a master-level degree, RECA member. Entrance exam fee of €56, free for grant holders.
