Ecole pivaut
Animation school
France
Address:
26 Rue Henri Cochard, 44000 Nantes, France
Critical point up front: Pivaut does not offer a 3D animation course. The school is explicitly positioned on 2D animation cinema, traditional drawing and concept art. If you are looking for 3D, this is not the place.
That said, for 2D and drawing the academic grounding is solid, and it has been the school's reputation since 1985. The 2D Animation course runs three years, with a Concept Art course also over three years and an optional preparatory year. The school also offers illustration and comics.
Admission runs through several routes: Parcoursup, lateral entry, the preparatory class, the Pivaut entrance exam, or accreditation of prior experience.
The campus network is wide and includes Montreal alongside Nantes, Rennes, Toulouse, Montpellier and Bordeaux, which opens a North American mobility option that is uncommon in the French landscape.
RECA member, courses registered with the RNCP. Fees are not published.
