The 2D and 3D split happens from undergraduate level: there is a BA Hons The Art of Computer Animation in 3D and another in 2D.
The four-year MArt format devotes its final year to entrepreneurship and a commercial studio, geared toward freelancing and setting up a business. The standard BA Hons runs three years.
The postgraduate offering is broad: MA 3D Animation, MA Visual Effects Production, MA Storyboarding and Previsualisation, MA Character and Creature Creation, MA Game Art. The first year is a common trunk across animation, VFX and games, then you specialise. Maya, Unreal Engine, ShotGrid, Substance. Teachers from Disney, EA and Framestore.
The awarding body has changed: the programmes were validated by the University of Kent, and the 2026 intake is awarded by Coventry University.
ScreenSkills accreditation, Unreal Engine Authorized Training Center, Houdini Certified School. £9,790 a year for UK and EU students in 2026, £17,995 for international students.
