Esra bretagne
Animation school
France
Address:
1 Rue Xavier Grall, 35700 Rennes, France
ESRA is first and foremost a film and audiovisual school, and 3D animation sits alongside directing and sound. That is precisely the argument: if you are aiming at VFX and film post-production rather than animated features, this mixed environment works for you. If you want to be surrounded only by animators, it works against you.
The 3D Animation and VFX course runs three years under the Sup'Infograph brand, covering animation, modelling, 3D compositing and production management. The three years let you explore the full range of roles before specialising. A five-year level exists at group level. Dedicated workstations and Wacom tablets in years two and three.
The campus network is a real asset: Paris, Nice, Rennes, Brussels and New York, with inter-campus mobility possible. State-recognised qualifications at bachelor and master level, RECA member.
Fees are not published and are sent out in brochures. The school reports distributing over €100,000 in grants a year and more than 25 % of students on bursaries, with CROUS eligibility.
