MASSART
Animation school
USA
Address:
621 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115, USA
The only independent public art college in the United States. Fees vary sharply with residency: $16,260 a year for a Massachusetts resident, $36,640 for New England and New York, $45,820 out of state, 2026-2027 rates.
The BFA in Animation runs four years. The department claims a broad, experimental approach rather than a studio pipeline: stop-motion stations, digital studios, experimental media, and an explicit push to take risks and work across techniques.
The course is geared toward developing a personal voice rather than an industrial 3D pipeline.
Admission on application and portfolio. Accredited institution, located in Boston, inside a dense university environment.
