MJM Graphic Design Nantes
Animation school
France
Address:
9 Rue Dugommier, 44000 Nantes, France
MJM's Réalisation 3D bachelor is a national programme, deployed identically across ten French campuses plus Madrid, London and a fully online version. Three years covering 3D animation, modelling, character design, scriptwriting, virtual environments, rendering, compositing and sound design.
Admission at baccalauréat level with no 3D prerequisite, through an application, written tests and an interview. Direct entry into year two or three is possible on the strength of your work. Work-study opens from year two, and under an apprenticeship contract tuition costs the student nothing. That is the most interesting part of the setup.
Software listed: 3ds Max, Blender, V-Ray and the Adobe suite. The positioning is that of a generalist 3D director for film, VFX, television, web and games, rather than a character animation specialisation. RNCP 39256 level 6 title.
The school's published figures should be read in full: a 93 % pass rate, but 48 to 53 % employment in the target profession across the 2020 to 2022 cohorts.
€7,320 a year full time, free under an apprenticeship contract. MJM remains a generalist applied arts school, not an animation school.
