The real distinguishing feature is Animex, the international animation festival the university runs every year, which brings studios onto campus. For an undergraduate, that is networking access very few schools offer.
The facilities match: a digital production stage, performance capture, an LED wall for virtual production, an immersive space.
The catalogue is heavily segmented, which lets you choose your exact path rather than following a single trunk: BA Hons Animation, BA Hons 2D Animation and Stop Motion, BA Hons Concept Art, BSc Hons Virtual Production, BA Hons Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. Three years, or four with a placement year, and that placement year carries no extra tuition.
Admission at 96 to 112 UCAS points for 2027-2028, with a portfolio required if your prior studies include no creative subject. The portfolio must show drawing fundamentals: life drawing, observational drawing.
ScreenSkills industry recognition, and ranked third in the UK for animation by Animation Career Review 2026. £9,790 a year for UK students in 2026-2027, £17,000 for international students.
