The only French-language university programme of its kind in Quebec. The bachelor in animation art and science carries 90 credits across three years, full time only, with autumn-only admission and 75 places a year.
The approach is more academic than the studio-schools': project-based learning with a stated visual and socio-historical methodology. Courses also cover documentary animation, VFX, scriptwriting and AI-generated creation. Maya, Toon Boom Harmony, Photoshop.
Facilities: a video and audio capture and editing lab, an animation studio with green screen, motion and facial capture, and on-site technical support.
The programme can be combined with other disciplines, biology, medicine or architecture, for medical visualisation or 3D architecture. Entrepreneurial and international profiles also exist.
Admission is open to international students with thirteen years of pre-university education or a French baccalauréat, and a French language test is required of non-native speakers. Up to 45 credits of prior learning can be recognised.
Buying a workstation is compulsory. Tuition varies with residency status and is not published on the pages consulted.
